Diego Caricature

by admin

I been busy doodling and then working digitally to create a little illustration of one of my heroes Diego Maradona (I know this won’t go down too well with a few English fans-oops).

I’m thinking of doing a few more illustrations of a few football “legends”. Let me know what you all think!

Featured Artist: Yok Yoker

yok1

This cat grew up in the mean suburbs of Perth and goes by the name of Yok Yoker. He definately has a unique flavour and im digging his illustration style.

Infatuated with gargoyles, the man can come across as a real funny dude, but does some serious work with the AIDS account in Kenya making posters inviting people to come and talk about Aids.

The Yok has a lot of work out there for us all to see and admire, using all sorts of textures as his canvas. Check him out on the following sites:

NikeID: Hush

by admin

I love customised things, and whilst NikeID may not exactly customise their sneaks in the way I would like to, you just have to give props to when they campaign something well. Hush, a New York based creation studio were commissioned to present inspiring imagery to NikeID customers back in 2008.

So whilst these stunning visuals have been around for some time, I felt the need to show my respect to some incredible artwork by lead designer at Hush, Laura Alejo, an award winning designer and illustrator from Barcelona, Spain. (Ok maybe the real reason is that I would just love to have some of this amazing imagery on my site!).

Laura and Hush are both responsible for some fantastic design, and I strongly urge you to check it out when you can.

Featured Artist: Alberto Cerriteño

by admin

chupacabras

I will try and make it a regular feature of heyindy.com to have a segment called “Featured Artist”, where I will pay testament to the artists who inspire me most. Skwak the illustrator from Lille was the first installment of these.

Many artists’ work are instantly recognisable through their distinctive style. Some often take your breath away with the sheer quality of their work and their remarkable creativity. Alberto Cerriteño most certainly falls into this category.

An illustrator and designer, from Mexico City, Alberto Cerriteño’s charismatic illustrations can be seen on many leading publications and websites. Marinating a unique textured collage approach with a brilliant illustration style, Alberto’s work has gained much recognition. Highly detailed textures and desaturated inks and colours contribute towards a fascinating style and technique. A truly incredible source of inspiration, heyindy.com salutes you!

Check out Alberto Cerriteño’s work here.
